The vocals are really vibey and those distorted bass roars are pretty cool. I wonder if that is at all related to the elephant haha

Hairmilked responds:

Bingo!

I actually put the elephant as the cover cause a friend pointed out it sounds like an elephant haha

WOW WHAT! This is so professional. I never knew I needed to hear progressive hardstyle. Worth the frontpage mate!

HelliXScream responds:

Thank you!

hey this vibe is cool

supermelon-creations responds:

Thxx

I find the combination to be very appealing c:
The idea is very sound, it just needs those extra ear candy elements to make it a real track, ya know?

I think this sounds pretty great I think you could even expand on this. One track I think you could really draw further inspiration from is 'Resistance' and 'Raindrops' from Hugh Hardie; just to see how he would transition section to section from the chaos.

These breaks are so classic O.O

The variable tempo is nostalgic, it reminds me of the old jungle breakbeat days when DJs tempo-match to other tracks. Fucking dope track!

Cubenssi responds:

Thank you so much!

This is so unique! I love the percussions in the back and the odd rhythm that plays off the drums.

I see where you were going with the vocal mix style; it's so close to a real pop mix but I would say they're a bit boxy on the middle EQ range but I feel like it might be the microphone's fault (I use a shitty one too). What I do is just lower those those low and mid ends and rely on saturation for the warmth. Other than that great song!

tvroom responds:

This would've been recorded on an at2020 usb w no acoustic treatment, but yeah could use less lowend or more compression maybe

Wow, the song progression is great and the mix is pristine. I love it!

LateNightScreening responds:

Thank you ^^

Hey I like this. It's super chill, unique, and doesn't get boring despite being a more ambient track.

During the last 3rd of the track, the chords are hella vibey however, I would be careful having long release/reverb tails on those chords when moving to another chord because it creates dissonance during the change.

mazzargh responds:

Cheers, glad you like it! 100% agreed about the dissonance, these days I'd run the big verb on a separate processing chain to automate the input and output levels around each chord, didn't know that production trick back when I made this EP ;)

Holy fuck this is amazing. It's so unique compared to other chiptune tracks. I love the song progression, those stereo, bit-crushed sounds playing adds so much to the atmosphere yet still keep the chiptune category.

Santi-Montali responds:

Thanks!! Yes, that was exactly my goal. I'm glad you liked it :)
